History & Mission

A tribute to Montserrat Figueras & Jordi Savall

In 1997 I set my first steps on the internet and discovered there were no sites dedicated to one of my favorite sopranos: Montserrat Figueras. Entering her name in searchengine Alta Vista showed 17 hits in that year. The idea to create a site dedicated to her was born.

It was an exciting period, discovering the internet, creating my first html pages, looking for a host to upload my site etc. Geocities, a free service at that time, offered me possibilities to realize my plans.

Things have changed since then. More sites dedicated to Ms Figueras appeared on the internet and Jordi Savall, her husband founded his own label Alia Vox and even an official site was realized.

A few years ago Geocities was taken over by Yahoo and its free services came to an end. Because plenty of information on Ms. Figueras and Mr. Savall can be found at Alia Vox these days, my mission to update my Montserrat Figueras site has also come to an end. The contents of the old site and the old discography will remain accessible as a small tribute to Ms. Figueras and Mr. Savall.

New mission

My new mission is not a complex one. I like music and other forms of arts and I like to share my interests with other enthousiasts. The domainname Musesworld. for my site is a logical result of these interests.
